Rep. Savannah Maddox Prepares to Launch Gubernatorial Bid

Republican state Rep. Savannah Maddox is preparing to launch her gubernatorial primary bid in Burlington next month.

The northern Kentucky lawmaker is sending out invites for her “big announcement” on June 6.

“Rep. Savannah Maddox is the leading voice of conservative values in the Kentucky General Assembly,” the event information on her announcement reads. “She has consistently stood up to our tyrannical governor and the woke agenda. A champion for our constitutional rights and freedoms, Savannah doesn’t back down. Join Savannah as she makes a special announcement about the future of Kentucky.”

In likely joining the GOP gubernatorial primary Maddox will be competing against Auditor Mike Harmon, Agriculture Commissioner Ryan Quarles, and Attorney General Daniel Cameron. Northern Kentucky former lawyer Eric Deters is also in the race.

Former Ambassador Kelly Craft, Somerset Mayor Alan Keck, and former Gov. Matt Bevin are all rumored to consider the race. Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear has been busy gearing up for his re-election this year.
