KY Democratic Party Chair to Speak on Behalf of Dems at Fancy Farm

With Gov. Andy Beshear scheduled to be out of the country, Kentucky Democratic Party Chairman Colmon Elridge will take the Fancy Farm stage on behalf of Kentucky’s Democrats.

Elridge is the latest addition to the speaking list for the annual Fancy Farm Picnic political speaking event that benefits St. Jerome Catholic Church.

Event organizers have added Elridge to speak alongside Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Charles Booker and 1st District Congressional Democratic nominee Jimmy Ausbrooks. Fancy Farm organizers say U.S. Sen. Rand Paul has also confirmed he will speak at the event, as long as the Senate is in recess.

Republicans have singled out Beshear, who is up for re-election next year, for skipping the event. In a tweet, Beshear said he would be in Israel during the August 6 event.
