KSP Names Suspect in Murder of Jordan Morgan

The Kentucky State Police have named a suspect in the murder of Jordan Morgan, the 32-year old daughter of former state Rep. Wesley Morgan, and are asking for help in locating the suspect.

Investigators have named Shannon V. Gilday, 23, of Taylor Mill, KY, and issued an arrest warrant for Murder, Burglary 1st Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, Assault 1st Degree, and two counts of Attempted Murder. He is considered armed and dangerous and is believed to be driving a White 2016 Toyota Corolla with minor damage to the front grill, and a license plate of 379-VMJ.

KSP says Gilday forced his way into Morgan’s home at approximately 4:00 am, armed with a rifle. Once inside police say, he fatally shot 32-year-old Jordan Morgan while she was in bed. After the shooting, Gilday confronted Wesley Morgan, the two exchanged gunfire Morgan was shot in the arm and in the hip, he was treated at the hospital and released Gilday left the Morgan’s home in a white passenger car.

Gilday is approximately 6 feet tall, 167 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. Surveillance footage showed him wearing a camo or tactical style pants and jacket, dark-colored hooded sweatshirt, gloves, and a light-colored facemask.

Kentucky State Police warn to not approach the vehicle or attempt to contact the driver for safety reasons if Gilday is spotted. Anyone with additional information about the investigation is urged to call Kentucky State Police.

Morgan was a former staffer in the administration of Gov. Matt Bevin.
