Kelly Craft Plans to Close Out Primary Election Campaigning with Ted Cruz

With time winding down before the Republican primary for governor, Kelly Craft is announcing a special guest will join her on the campaign trail.

On May 13, the Saturday before the May 16 primary election, U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, will join her at get-out-the-vote (GOTV) rallies in Louisville and Richmond, Kentucky.

“Kelly Craft is the candidate that Kentuckians need as their governor to usher in a new generation of leadership,” Sen. Cruz said. “I’ve seen firsthand how hard Kelly has worked to stand up to the Chinese Communist Party and negotiate the largest trade deal in American history. I also know how passionate she is about ensuring that every Kentuckian can reach their full potential and achieve the American Dream. I’m honored to endorse her for Governor of Kentucky and am excited to stump for her in the Bluegrass State to get out the vote.”

Craft said she is thankful to have Cruz’s support in the race. The former ambassador is trailing in public polling with less than two weeks left in the race to Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron, who was endorsed early in the GOP gubernatorial primary by Donald Trump.

Jeff Roe, the founder of Axiom Strategies – which is working on Craft’s campaign, has a deep tie to Sen. Cruz. Roe served as the campaign manager for Cruz’s 2016 presidential run.
