Gov. Beshear Raises More than $1 Mil for Re-Election Campaign

The campaign for Gov. Andy Beshear, D-Kentucky, re-election is announcing they have raised more than $1 million in the first quarter of the year.

Combined with the campaign’s fundraising efforts from October through December of last year, the Governor has raised nearly $2.4 million in just six months since announcing his campaign for re-election and his campaign has $2.2 million cash on hand, according to a news release.

“Our team is working to preserve and expand on the progress we’ve made for Kentuckians over the last two years,” said Gov. Beshear in statement. “In Kentucky, we want our kids and grandkids to have more opportunity than we’ve ever seen before, and we’re seeing that kind of momentum right now. I look forward to continuing to lead Kentucky through this historic era to improve lives for all Kentucky families for generations to come.”

There are a slew of Republicans who have floated entering the GOP primary next year to take on Beshear for the governorship. So far, only two candidates have entered the primary.
