Gov. Beshear Raises Another Million for Re-Election; Passes $6 Million Raised for Campaign

Gov. Andy Beshear raised roughly $1,050,000 in the first quarter of 2023, his campaign announced on Monday. The Kentucky Democratic Party has also brought in roughly three quarters of a million dollars since the start of 2023.

“Governor Beshear has led Kentucky through difficult times with compassion and a focus on doing what is right,” said campaign manager Eric Hyers. “He’s delivered on creating good-paying jobs and getting big things done like the Brent Spence Bridge project—with no tolls—and bringing clean, reliable drinking water to thousands of homes. While we are seeing an increasingly nasty and negative GOP primary, Democrats, independents and many Republicans are enthusiastically supporting the governor’s reelection bid so that he can continue making the lives of Kentuckians better.”

Beshear’s public approval is 60 percent, according to polling released earlier this year.

A dozen Republicans are vying for the GOP nomination to challenge Beshear. Beshear, is the presumptive Democratic nominee in the fall.
