The Louisville Democratic Party has nominated Metro Council Member Cassie Chambers Armstrong to compete in a February special election for the 19th Senate District, according to a news release.
“I’m proud of the work I’ve done on Metro Council to invest in early childhood education, support survivors of domestic violence, and meet the needs of working families,” Chambers Armstrong said. “I look forward to running a strong campaign to represent the voters of the 19th Senate District and continuing to work for all Kentuckians in Frankfort.”
Governor Beshear called the special election to fill the vacancy created by the departure of Congressman-Elect Morgan McGarvey. The election is scheduled for February 21, 2023.
