Craig Greenberg Goes After GOP Candidate on Abortion in First Ad

LOUISVILLE – Democratic mayoral nominee Craig Greenberg is taking it to Republican Bill Dieruf over abortion in the open seat race to decide the next mayor of Louisville.

Greenberg is on air in the Louisville market with an ad that flips the script on abortion in the heavily Democratic district. Greenberg is taking the attack to Dieruf for being nonplus on the issue.

Women speak directly to the camera in the ad, introducing Dieruf as a Republican backed by extremists who “want to completely outlaw abortion.” The ad relies on an asterisk denoting a donation made to Dieruf from Corey Koellner the executive director of Right to Life Louisville.

“Dieruf won’t say if he’ll stop Louisville police from arresting women seeking abortions, or even the doctors performing them,” women say in the ad. “Craig Greenberg values women. He respects us.”

Greenberg has an electoral advantage in Louisville in voter registration in Louisville and abortion will likely draw many to the polls after the recent Supreme Court decision sending the issue to the states, and reversing Roe.
