Beshear Appoints Amy McGrath to Veterans’ Program Trust Fund Board of Directors

Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear has appointed former Democratic Senate and Congressional candidate Amy McGrath to a vacant board seat.

Beshear has added McGrath to the Veterans’ Program Trust Fund Board of Directors. The retired U.S. Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel replaces Shontelle Adams, who has resigned.

McGrath will serve for the remainder of the term expiring July 15, 2023.

Here are the other appointments to boards and commissions Beshear has recently made.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Lory Wilson as a member of the Kentucky Board of Dentistry.

  • Lory Wilson of Lexington is a dental hygienist. She replaces Donna Ruley, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Lorilea Conyer and Jay Prather as members of the Kentucky Board of Examiners of Psychology.

  • Lorilea Conyer of Louisville is a licensed psychological practitioner. She replaces Stacy Seale, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 26, 2026.
  • Jay Prather of Lexington is an attorney at Garmer and Prather. He replaces Justin Gilfert, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 26, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Jessica Kavanaugh as a member of the Kentucky Traumatic Brain Injury Trust Fund Board.

  • Jessica Kavanaugh of Lexington is a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician. She replaces Bryce Meredith, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring June 30, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Whitley Keltner as a member of the Geographic Information Advisory Council.

  • Whitley Keltner of Lexington is a GIS analyst. She replaces Michael Young, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 26, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Virginia Gilpin as a member of the Kentucky Board of Licensure for Professional Art Therapists. The Governor has also reappointed Katherine Delahanty.

  • Virginia Gilpin of Lexington is a professional art therapist. She replaces Rebecca Hunger, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 26, 2026.
  • Katherine Delahanty of Louisville is Director of Outreach at Louisville Visual Art and shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2026.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Morgan Eaves as a member of the State Advisory Committee for the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The Governor has also reappointed Joy Brown, Jeffrey Dembo, Marlon Sams, Clay Cottongim, William Brammel Jr., Frank Beaty, Patrick Manning, John Denton, Don Gibson, Molly Caldwell, Nicholas Hazel, Matt Sawyers, Max Bishop and Charles Haddaway IV.

  • Morgan Eaves of Lexington is Director of Advocacy at Cognia. She replaces Lane Hettich, whose term has expired, and shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 26, 2024.
  • Joy Brown of Morehead is Tourism Executive Director of Morehead Tourism Commission and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Jeffrey Dembo of Lancaster is a retired professor and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Marlon Sams of Corbin is City Manager of the City of Corbin and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Clay Cottongim of Shelbyville is Director of Parks and Recreation for the Shelby County Parks Board and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • William Brammel Jr. of Crestwood is an attorney with DBL Law and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Frank Beaty of Eubank is retired and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Patrick Manning of Mount Sterling is Executive Director of MSMC Parks and Recreation and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • John Denton of Smith Mills is a farmer and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Don Gibson of Leburn is Director of Permitting & Regulatory Affairs for Blue Diamond Mining and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Molly Caldwell of Lexington is Non-profit Executive for the Kentucky State Parks Foundation and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Nicholas Hazel of Campbellsville is assistant executive director at Lake Cumberland Area Development District and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Matt Sawyers of Lexington is Executive Director of the National Association of Shell Marketersfor Associations International and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Max Bishop of Louisville is Senior Environmental Project Manager for Micro-Analytics Inc. and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.
  • Charles Haddaway IV of Pleasure Ridge Park is Executive Director for Kentucky Recreation & Park Society and shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 17, 2024.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Molly Boyd and Dawn Sexton as members of the Reading Diagnostic and Intervention Grant Steering Committee.

  • Molly Boyd of Danville is a community volunteer and shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 26, 2025.
  • Dawn Sexton of Burgin is a kindergarten teacher for Burgin Independent Schools and shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 26, 2023.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Lori Ulrich and Virginia Reeves as members of the Buffalo Trace Covered Wooden Bridge Authority.
