Somerset Mayor and Republican gubernatorial hopeful Alan Keck has hired a former Kentuckian to manage his campaign.
Keck announced hiring Jeremy Hughes, of November Inc., to serve as his general consultant and media strategist. Hughes, of Fleming County, recently oversaw paid media for an eight-figure super PAC supporting Republican Joe Lombardo for Nevada governor, according to the campaign.
Hughes lists work as the campaign manager for former Congressman Geoff Davis in 2007, and serving as political director for Trey Grayson’s 2010 run for U.S. Senate among his Kentucky races. Since then Hughes has served as a regional political director for the Republican National Committee, and campaign manager for former Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval.
“Alan is a genuine, authentic candidate who has led from the start as mayor in so many issues that are important to Kentuckians,” Hughes said. “I am excited to lead the only campaign in this primary with a platform and the only candidate in the field to have the public- and private-sector experience needed to lead this state. Kentucky is my home and I share Alan’s passion for making the Commonwealth win again.”
November Inc.’s Mike Slanker will serve as the campaign’s lead media strategist, according to a news release. Slanker served in this role for Lombardo’s successful gubernatorial campaign and has been the lead strategist for numerous statewide campaigns across the country.
Keck is one of 12 Republicans seeking the GOP nomination on May 16.
